PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE SEPTEMBER 2008
Back to school time…for your business.
It’s September, time to review the basics of your business and identify those things necessary to successfully gear up for this quarter. What is it you need to achieve your goals?
Those who attended Chamber 101 last July 31st learned how to take advantage of the Chamber mailing services, networking opportunities and numerous ways available to promote their businesses. The Blue Books they received after “graduating” from the program will no doubt serve as an excellent study guide over the next few months, especially as they finalize their 2009 plans. That’s right, your 2009 business plan is also due this quarter. (If you act quickly, I believe Laura still has a few of those Blue Books left. Give her a call if you’d like one).
Perhaps you need to spend time in the “library” to bone up on some business or marketing skills? The new Resource Center in the Chamber office provides books and brochures and a quiet place to sit and study.
How about joining a “study group” to sit and hash out how to handle a variety of business questions and problems with a group of your peers? The business support groups are just that, conveniently held at both early morning and lunchtimes.
You can also be the “teacher” and teach others how to present your products and services to others while reciprocating with theirs. That’s what the business-to-business and business-to-consumer lead generating groups are about.
Prior to showcasing your business at the Business-2-Business Expo in October, attend the short course on September 18th from 6-8pm about how to capitalize on it and review some of the displays that will be there.
Whatever you want to achieve as you head in to this quarter remember, you set the pace…your Chamber helps you get there.
President
